Brother or Son of Roger Williams - no one has proof. Says thinks it could be in the 3rd person writing. So far, listed as brother of the IOW John Williams.
So, where is proof of which one of these men married Wife Elizabeth Williams (Whitley)
We know Nottoway John Williams was the on record husband of wife Ann Williams Shoemaker (Godfrey), of Chalmette, LA
and he mentions in his will his kids and is stated Grand Father of Anne Browne and Bridget (Williams) Browne (thought to be dtrs of William Williams)

Mary Hickman (Williams); Nottoway Cheraw Leader can not be the same as Lt Col John Williams II because they have very different plantations, with the Nottoway Horse Swamp going to his Nottoway sons/ grands in joint tennancy and being sold to the neighbors Arnold, Boon, and Brown by the 1740 ish era. The Nottoway William WIlliams; and Theophilus Williams and Nicholas Williams should be staying over with their Nottoway dad and not showing up on the other John William's trees. Nottoway John Williams mentioned them in his will. The 5 John Williams of the IOW area, once they get dissected, again, let's lock them down.

@John Williams, of Isle of Wight, as connected in Geni shows him as a direct up my Gibson line. The problem is...I have a totally different ancestry in my private tree for this line.

For the John Williams of IOW that you have, I have him in my tree John Williams IV of VA as father of my Agnes Gibson (Williams) and that his wife and her is Mary Womack. He also married Mary Keeling, but I'm not sure if that is correct. Most sites don't list his parents or his wives. All I know for sure is that MY John on this line who was father of Agnes Williams Gibson was also the father of Sarah Williams GIbson, the two Williams sisters married two Gibson brothers:

I've never found a connection between this John and the Cheraw Williams lines or the Herrings and other connecting families tied to the various Nottoway lines.

Unless I'm overlooking it, I'm not seeing any connection to the daughters Agnes and Sarah who married Thomas and Nelson Gibson, respectively. It "seems" like the John connected to them on Geni at present is not their father since they aren't mentioned in any of the will info I've looked over.
