The listed death of Anne is 1694. She was apparently married to John Lankford on 12 Aug. 1714. This marriage comes from the Boston Family of Maryland book.

ANNE BOSTON, daughter of Henry Boston (1) by his first wife, Anne, was born in Somerset County, Maryland, probably at Annemessex, about 1663. She was married, in Somerset County, 12 March 1680/81, to THOMAS RELFE, by Captain Henry Smith, "one of his Lordshipps Justices of ye Peace." In 1688 Thomas Relfe held tracts "Contention" and "Truelock Grange." He evidently died intestate in 1714, for John and Anne Lankford were administrators of his estate. Anne Relfe married, second, in Stepney Parish, Somerset Co., 12 Aug. 1714 JOHN LANKFORD of Nanticoke.

Does anybody have additional information about the marriage of John and Anne as well as the death of Anne?

The 1694 death date comes from FamilySearch:

“ Anne Boston was born in 1663. She had one daughter with Thomas Relfe in 1691. She died as a young mother in 1694 in Somerset, Maryland, at the age of 31.”

The profile is well sourced

But I don’t see a record for 2nd marriage or death date.

Tim Stamps Any insight into John Lankford 2nd wife?

Erica,

According to The Boston Family of Maryland book Anne and Thomas Relfe had four children:

Thomas (~1682+1723), Susannah (1686-), Elizabeth (1692-), John (1693/4-1726).

Of course this cannot be taken as fact because we do not know all of Dr. Wise's sources. Just wanted to put that info here since it also differs from the FamilySearch info.

Yes, the comment doesn’t match the FS tree, either.

I was able to find an entry in the Maryland Compiled Marriage Index,1634-1777 for:

`Langford, John, 24 Aug. 1714, Ann Ralph`

If that helps.

More than good enough! I deleted the death date.

Lankford died 1720. Can we figure out if she survived him?

Take a look here, it’s cited at Wikitree, and a before 1723 death date.

Wikitree has a confusion of Thomas Relph l & ll, I think.

Anne Boston married John Lankford I on 12 August 1714 at Stepney Parish, Somerset Co, MD. Matt Wise points out that this John Lankford was of Nanticoke and not of Annamessex.2

(No will or probate mentioned for John)

Good finds, Erica.

I'm going to need to dig into those a bit more.

And yes, Wise tried to make it clear the John Lankford of Nanticoke is not of the same family near/in Somerset Co about the same time. Although I wasn't aware he was possibly an immigrant (detailed in the last link you shared).

I know nothing more about this than what was in the Wise book. I've added everyone as managers, so please make additions as you find them.
