Here is some new information about the Weinberger family.
I have learned from the new Sub-Carpathia Genealogy website that the Weinberger family didn't live in Khust, also known as Huszt, Ukraine, but in Synevyr, also known as Alsószinevér, Ukraine, about 50 miles north of Khust. The father of Rav Asher Yonah Weinberger was registered as Lázár WEINBERGER or VEINBERGER. His mother's last name was QUITNER and was also registered as KVITNER. This means her last name was not KREITNER.
I am planning to explore the indexed Sub-Carpathian records further and make some necessary changes to the current Geni tree. I'm not planning to change the Hebrew or Yiddish names to the "official" secular Hungarian names, but I will add the Hungarian names to the nickname field and add a note if some big changes are made, for example about the name change from Kreitner to Quitner/Quittner/Kvitner.
