Archibald Murray Walters was the son of Herrin Henry Walters and Elizabeth Ann Blackledge and the grandson of Major Thomas Walters and Ellen Schoopert. Herrin was born 1785 in Anderson, Pendleton, South Carolina and married Elizabeth 1809 in Colleton District, South Carolina. She was born November 29, 1789 in Anderson Co., South Carolina.
