: Margaret Moore Emerson b. Lincoln NC, could not be the wife of James Emerson, "The Regulator" of Chatham, NC. She did marry a James Emerson date October 1791 in Lincoln County, NC, but James "The Regulator" Emerson had already died five years before in 1786 per Chatham, NC, Estate records. Check the marriage bond attached to her profile, the image can be viewed for evidence and correction needs to be made. Thanks for this consideration.

Can we get the children clarified first please before moving profiles? We need them listed out in writing with correct parent pairs.

James Emerson m: Margaret Unknown in 1755. DAR established children are:
James (b 1759) m: Sarah Evans
Henry (b 1763) m: Mary Unknown
William (b 1780) m: Elizabeth Betsey Duncan

Hopefully this is fixed but the children attached to the new James Emerson should be reviewed.

And Margaret Emerson profiles created, co managers welcome - just request from the options menu on the profile.

If Margaret Moore married a James Emerson in 1791 then none of the children are hers, and she is not the Margaret Emerson who wrote her Will in 1812. Correct?

THANKS everyone, for these responses. Yes, Erica, you are correct. I located Margaret Emerson wife of James "the Regulator" Emerson her will in FHL microfilm early this morning, have it abstracted but not attached to anything yet til I get approved as a manager, and her will was in Chatham, NC, undated, but previous will March 1812, "very sick in body..." likely dying soon after March 1812, naming daughter Nancy and (son) Eli. Yes, Erica, I agree, let's establish children from both families with records, etc., then you can handle the profiles appropriately.

So sad...thank you, everyone.
