I am a direct descendant of Capt. Michael Pierce and his wife Persis Pierce (Eames), 1621-1662). I am not descended from his second wife, Annah Pierce. When I run the blood relationship, it shows Capt. Michael Pierce as my 9th great-grandfather. It should also show Persis Pierce as my 9th great-grandmother.It shows Persis Pierce as my 9th great-grandfather's wife, as an in-law relationship. And on the blood relationship, which is not correct in my case, it shows her as my 8th cousin 6 times removed, when it should show her as my 9th great-grandmother. I did not know how to fix this, and I did not want to create a duplicate profile on her in the right place, showing her correct relationship to me. Can anyone help me out on this one?

Hi Dona, Persis Pierce was my maternal 8th Great Grandmother. You could be related to her in more than one way. Her daughter, Mary was my 7th Great Grandmother, who was married to Samuel Holbrook, Sr.

The relationship calculator needed a refresh at Howard Arthur Pierce

Which is strange, but the lesson is “walk the tree” and examine each relationship.

Do you mean for Persis? It will only show immediate family. You show as a manager.
