I stumbled on your request as I was researching a Doby that is a friend of a friend. My mother is Norma Gail Doby, and that isn't a common name. This friend is a descendant of Lewis L Doby who was one of CJ and Nancy's kids. I suspect that I am related to that line as they are documented in the 1900 census in the Martins district in Gwinnett, which is where I grew up.
I did find on FamilySearch.org that Charley and Nancy were married in 1894, but I haven’t made more progress than that. What is your family tree? My mother's father was Crawford Earl Doby, and his father was Andrew Jackson Doby and his father was Malon J Doby and his father was William Augustus Doby and his father was Joseph Doby and his father was John Doby. John died in the Revolutionary War battle of Eutaw Springs in South Carolina. I haven't learned anything on John's ancestors.
