Pvt. Nicholas Dodge Jr. (1752-1827), b. in Beverly, MA; he served as a Private under Captain Cilley in the NH troops; later was superintendent of blacksmithing for Gen. Washington's division in the Continental Army and was often sent out as a scout. (Source: Progressive Men of Montana, pg. 602) His father gave him some of the Londonderry, NH land he owned.
He m. (1) Hannah Cole (1752-1787) in 1775; he m. (2) Elizabeth Flye (1767-1841), dau. of John Flye, in Vassalboro, ME in 1788 and had 8 children; he d. in Burnham, ME in 1827 at age 75.
