I have been looking for 38 years for proof of Jesse's parents, Abner and Sarah. No baptism because they didn't do infant baptism (Congregational and then Baptist). I've done all the land records of both. I found Abner's goods auctioned when they left Duanesburg. I found his taxes in Duanesburg and earlier in Bethlehem. I've seen letters in post offices, Abner in newspapers as a Republican. No probate at all for Abner but the will for Jesse. Any proof out there? My mom's aunts tried to prove it at the turn of the century, 1899-1900. They knew it as their dad had talked about his father and grandfather. They were ready to send letters from proven cousins to DAR but that wasn't considered proof. Help someone! NLRomer@aol.com
