There appears to be evidence that he was born Edmund *Pershall.* This appears to be one of the exact reasons a birth surname category exists, so is there any possibility of it being altered to reflect this information?

From my inbox:
According to my own researches in the Braedalbane papers in the National Library of Scotland, Edmond was the seventh and youngest son of Richard Peshall and his Rolleston wife. There were also at least two elder sisters.

We know more or less when his eldest brother Thomas was born from his entry to Gray's Inn - best guess 1553. Edmond's birth date must have been mid 1560s at the earliest, and his career within the Grocer's Company suggests a birth date of around 1571-3.

I have set this out in a booklet on Kindle, entitled 'The Fabulous Peshalls'.

Kind regards,

Dr D
