Captain William jones was born in Holyhead , north wales in 1816. His father was John jones and John was a deacon of a baptist church in Holyhead. William married Elizabeth Owens in July 13 1848. They had six children and then came to America in 1858. William went to Dublin Ireland and received his captains license and saile on a ship called Tredar and also one called barque golden age. He sailed from natal to Melbourne hauling immagrants and cargo. John, williams father, was a deacon in a baptist church in Holyhead. When Williams family came to America they settled in Holyhead area just east of Dodgeville Wisconsin. William died on sept 18, 1900 and buried in the east side cemetery of Dodgeville, Wisconsin. I'm try to go back further in the jones family to see who is John's father and then the fathers father of John and on further back in time.
