Most people know that the Mayflower that came to the British American Colony and established Plymouth, arrived in 1620 and only made one trip.
What I was surprised to learn is that there were 2 ships named the Mayflower.
The 2nd Mayflower made 5 trips to the colonies. These trips were made in 1629, 1630, 1633, 1634 and 1639.
This might account for why a lot of people can't find their ancestors on the Mayflower. They would be checking the wrong ship.
I was told my Brown ancestors came over on the Mayflower but there was only one man by that surname that came over on the first ship. His name was Peter Brown b. 1595 d.1633. Peter married twice in the new world and had four children between both wives. One child died in infancy and his 3 daughters that remained all married.
We know he had a brother John who came allegedly over about 1632 on the ship the Lion. This John had one daughter Remember Brown who married and had 9 children by her husband.
Peter and John had other siblings but I have no idea who or when they came. They may have come with John on the Lion or on the 2nd Mayflower or another ship entirely.
My enquiry is: Is there a list of passengers for the 5 trips that the 2nd Mayflower made.
