To my son Hezekiah - the plantation whereon I now live, called Dents Pallace, provided my wife shall enjoy the use of sd plantation during her natural life. To my son Hatch Dent - 4 slaves named Alce, esther, Ann, & Jacob. Also a bed and furniture, and a desk. To the heirs of my son John - a Negro boy called Harry. To my granddaughter Ann Dyson - a roan horse and a chest, a bed with furniture, & a cow & calf. To my granddaughter. Margaret Dyson - a Negro girl called Bess, a bed with furniture, & a cow & calf. But if she should depart this life without an heir of her body, sd Negro to belong to my granddaughter Ann Dyson. To my other children not already mentioned - all my moveable effects, goods, and chattels, to be equally divided amongst them (excepting a Negro boy called Coffee), but with the proviso that my wife shall have the use of all my said moveable effects, goods, and chattels, during her natural life. To my daughter Rody Turner - the afd excepted Negro boy called Coffee. My will is that the still shall go with my plantation, as already bequeathed. Executor: my son Hezekiah. Edward's wife was Hester Manning, dau of Joseph Manning (see his will, Prerog Ct of MD Will Bk (PCW) 14:447). After Edward died by 15 Feb 1713/14 (see Prerog Ct of MD Inventories and Accounts Book (PCIA) 35A:151), his wife was remarried to Thomas Matthews bef 31 May 1715 (see PCIA 36B:330); Thomas had some connection with Catherine Dent, the widow of Hatch's father John Dent, since Thomas signed as Catherine's surety for her administration of John's estate (see Prerog Ct of MD Accounts Book (PCA) 18:1)]

"in law" was added in a different handwriting. That is, it looks like this document originally was written, "my two sons".
