I'm a direct descendant of James Ellis b. 1815 in KY to Capt. James Ellis and Betsy Morrison. I've done quite a bit of primary research on this line and have found no evidence of James' marriage to a Lucy. He is recordeded in a list of Harrison County, Indiana marriages as marrying Anna Ellis, who was probably a close cousin, and who was close in age.
