This fight has been going on for a couple of years noW. Somebody got a bee in her bonnet that Peregrine Browne, son of Peregrine Browne ropemaker of London, was *the same person* as Peregrine Browne brother of John Browne (and son of either another John or a Thomas Browne, depending on whether he was Elinor Browne Warfield's brother or junior uncle).
But he wasn't, and he couldn't have been, and as a result there are now TWO profiles with THE SAME wives and children.
THIS Peregrine Browne DID NOT go to Maryland, DID NOT marry Mary Frisby or Margaret Brock, WAS NOT related to Elinor Browne Warfield, and has been effectively mash-merged with the one who did.
Elinor Browne Warfield is the key to disentangling the mess - she always was. She had a brother John Browne (merchant mariner), *their* father was another John Browne, and Peregrine Browne was the brother of one or the other of the John Brownes (probably the younger, but it isn't very clear which).
If Peregrine Browne was Elinor's brother, his father's name was John. NOT Peregrine.
If he was Elinor's uncle, he was in the same age bracket as Peregrine Browne ropemaker, *father* of the other Peregrine Browne - and therefore too old to have been him.
It was Elinor's brother/uncle who came to Maryland, married Mary Frisby, eventually returned to London etc. etc. etc. Also, Elinor's brother/uncle was involved with some land in Lancashire, which suggests that her family was not, or had not always been, native to London.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO ELINOR CONNECTED WITH THIS PROFILE.
Elinor's brother/uncle: Captain Peregrine Browne, of Maryland
Notice that he HAS NOT been MP'ed and is vulnerable to mash-merging (which would make what is already a horrendous mess much MUCH worse).
