Lewis Stone husband of Elizabeth Hickock Robbins Stone was born in New Brunswick, CA to Joshua and Chloe Morehouse Stone. He married Elizabeth White in 1818. They had 8 known children who were born in Maine. The family moved to Minnesota sometime around 1849 (with brother George Stone). Elizabeth White Stone died in 1853. He remarried to the widow Elizabeth Hickock Robbins circa 1857. The two moved to Colorado in 1862 and settled in Fort Collins in 1864. Lewis died while living at the military post of Fort Collins in January 1866 and was originally buried in the post graveyard. His body was reinterred at the Mountain Home Cemetery (date unknown, cemetery closed) and his final resting place is not known although it may be with his second wife Elizabeth Hickock Robbins Stone at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins, Colorado.
