Can any Estonian members of Geni explain the origins of Adamson as an Estonian name please?
It does not seem to be a typical Estonian name however I am aware from my family history research that there are famous historical and contemporary Estonian artists named Adamson as well as many other people with the name Adamson living in Estonia today.
i have always assumed it was primarily a Scottish name and also northern England. My Adamson ancestors were from the Shetland Islands - now part of Scotland, but formerly part of Scandinavia in Viking times - is that the connection?
Thank you Jim Adamson (Australia)
