Hi, I am having a problem. There are some things I would like to add to an ancestors profile on Geni from a profile of him on MyHeritage. However, the SmartCopy box opens, and it is completely blank. I have been using SmartCopy for a few years now, and this has never happened. I'd add a screenshot if I could, but I see no way to do that here.

Why would the SmartCopy box be completely blank? I am only trying to use it to add ONE sibling of the ancestor of mine, but I can't see anything to do so.

Andrea Rezabek (Ahonen) if you could give a link to your ancestor's profile and the MH page i will try it for you.

Andrea, what browser do you use?

Andrea Rezabek (Ahonen),

You could save a screenshot as a document with your profile and share a link here if you think that helps.
Is your problem only with one profile? If so make sure you access the English version of MyHeritage (.com version) and not a local one. You could try switching the language to something else and back to English to see if that makes any difference.
If you have the problem with multiple profiles you may want to look at any browser add-on that may block a connection to the site (like an add-blocker). If you can you might try another browser and see if you have the same problem there (SmartCopy is available for Chrome and Firefox)

I use Firefox. Here is a link to a screenshot: https://www.geni.com/photo/view/6000000016251128596?album_type=phot...

The problem is with ALL profiles, not just one. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled it, and that did not work. I switched the language on MyHeritage.com (which was already in English) and then switched it back - that did not work.

I have not added any add-ons since SmartCopy was last working, but I checked anyway - there no add-on that would block a connection to the site.

I can't express my disdain for Chrome enough - it eats tons of my memory every time it is open. So if that is the last resort, I guess I wouldn't use SmartCopy anymore. I could type the info from MyHeritage to Geni faster than I could open a Chrome window....

The screen shot is helpful, but having the exact links (URLs) for the MH page and the Geni profile would be *most* useful (they are not fully visible in the screenshot).

Andrea Rezabek (Ahonen),

I just tried and it works for me without a problem. Can you check the version of SmartCopy that you are using? (it is shown in the bottom of the SmartCopy window)
It should be 4.6.12
If it is you could try a logout from SmartCopy using the I on the top of the SmartCopy window and authorize SmartCopy again.

If that also does not work you would probably have to debug it, but that is something I cannot help you with.

Thanks, Andrea

Be sure you are using v4.6.12 of SmartCopy and that Firefox is up-to-date; using those links, the SmartCopy panel was just as expected for me on both Firefox and Chrome (on OS/X 10.14.6).

The next step in diagnosis would be to disable all the other extensions (temporarily); if SmartCopy works in that case, then enable them one at a time until you find the one that interferes. It may not be one you "expect" (i.e.: it might not be a "site/ad-blocking extension).

It is v4.6.12. Unfortunately, the 'I' on the top of the smart copy window just brings up another blank screen.

Could it be a Firefox profile issue?
Can you start Firefox with a new profile and see if that makes any difference (you can use firefox.exe -P <name> to start Firefox with profile <name> or see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-rem...)
