I am slightly confused because you say here that David was born in 1718 but in a reply to me in Sephardic Diaspora you say he was born in 1699 ? This would make David husband of Judith de Leeuw 29 at time of marriage ?
In that reply you said “David de Selomoh de Meza can't possibly have been a son of Salomon de Meza and Ester Gomes Nietto, Because David was born in 1699, and Salomon and Ester got married in 1705. They do have a son David, born in 1818, who would have been ten years old in 1728 when David de Selomoh de Meza married Judith de Leeuw.”
The son you say is born in 1818 ... I assume you mean 1718 ?
I just looked into it a bit however, since in the Family Search it showed 1699 I thought it was 1699. I am fine with whatever research results you come up with. It was however, Jarrett Ross who has done more with finding evidence etc so you may wish to contact him from now on. I am fine with whatever changes for the better that you make.
I have been traveling around the country for the past few weeks but have been keeping my eye on the de Meza discussion here as well as on The Sephardic Diaspora group on facebook. I know a good amount of the information I used was built off of the Ondertrouwregisters (Marriage Banns) and the Beth Haim cemetery cards. It is known that the Beth Haim cards are not perfect and have inaccuracies, which may be where the conflicting information may be coming from. Part of it also may be that I jumped to conclusions without vetting as much as I should (the joys of collaborative research though as no one is perfect). I won't be able to add much for the next few weeks but to aid in the discussion here are links to relevant Beth Haim cards.
