Just confirming that
Adelaide Taylor should only be married to Robert Taylor, iii and not to Robert Taylor, ii ?

The Tasmanian 27/7/1895 Page 27

Robert Taylor at the ripe old age of 86 after a very short illness. He arrived in the colony in 1836, and lived six years with the late Edward Archer, of Panshanger ; was six years overseer for the late Joseph Archer, of Panshanger ; then after a short time on the Victorian diggings came to Cressy, and rented the glebe land of Ripon Fund, and has resided on it up to hismdeath. He has been sexton of the Anglican Church for nearly 40 years, and belonged to the Wesleyan body tor over 50 years, at whose services he was a constant attendant. He was one of the few.honest, uptight, and simple minded men that are wet with in the journey through life. He leaves a widow and large family to mourn his loss

The Robert TAYLOR who died 1895 aged 86 is Robert Taylor, ii

His widow refers to Susellen as Adelaide died in 1895
* Susellen Eleanor (Culling) Taylor, Convict “Royal Admiral” 1842 died in 1922 so was still alive in 1895
* Adelaide Taylor died in 1882 so was deceased in 1895

This is what I have

This does not look to be correct
Robert Taylor, ii (1810-1895) has 2 sons called Robert that are alive at the same time which seems unlikely

Robert Lopes / Lopez Taylor
* born 1843
* died 1934
* married 1880 Alice Julia Pointon
* children between 1882 and 1894

Robert Taylor, iii
* born 1847
* died 1898
* married 1870 Adelaide Taylor
* married 1887 Selina "Selenia" Post
* children between 1870 and 1898

Can anyone add any information on the second Robert?

Inserted by his fond wife, Selina Taylor, Pullitop.

Rest, dear father, gently sleep. We mourn for you, and sadly weep, Thy work is done, thy task is o'er, Thy weary hands shall toil no more. Rest, dear father, for evermore.

I was just wondering why people are saying robert vincent lopez taylor, is it on his birth certificate. Because its not on his marriage or death certificate. It only says robert taylor

Thank you leanne i just saw your last post 😊

Just a bit about Susellen: Susellen Culling came to Tasmania as a convict at the age of 15 being convicted on 20th Oct 1841 at the Isle of Cambridge along with her brother Phillip for staling and father Charles for receiving stolen goods. Both Susellen and Phillip were sentenced to 7 years to commence from 10th Nov 1841. Charles was pardoned after receiving letters of good character Susellen was deported on the ship " Royal Admiral" having left Woolwich, London 5th 1842.Arrived 24TH September 1842 . Susellen was a prisoner at the time of her Marriage to Robert Taylor on 26th October 1843 at Perth Church Launceston Permission for her marriage was granted Sept 1843

Just my thoughts ???? Leanne I do not think Robert married Alice Pointon as the births etc all happened in Sydney area and the Taylor family stayed around the Holbrook Wagga Wagga area

Spot on glenda, robert taylor is such a common name, its easy to get confused. But i dont know who alice pointer is

Robert Lopes Taylor definetely married Alice Mary Pointer
* she is listed in his newspaper obituary
* Their wedding is in the newspaper

Robert taylor, who married adelaide peacock, as far as i can see doesn't have a middle name, his 2 marriage certificates and death certificate just say robert taylor

I haven't seen any sources for a middle name of Vincent.

Fyi Robert Lopes Taylor and Robert (maybe Vincent) Taylor are 2 different people. They should be seperate now in Geni.

Thank you leanne, have a merry Christmas

Hi
Not sure if this is of interest but
I have just seen Robert Taylor who married Susellen Culling on another site (en.geneanet.org). On that site it states that his father was John Taylor 1779 married Hannah Benson 1780. His grandfather was Robert Taylor 1738 married to Hannah Holmes 1740. His Great grandfather Robert (Robt) Tayler (different spelling) 1703 married Annie Crakle 1713.

What sources do they have?

Not sure. I was just searching Robert Taylor who married Susellen Culling and found this site. It is managed by Allison Heathorn (allisontassie@gmail.com. She has setup a web page Early Horton (circular head) Tasmania settlers and relations from around the world.

thank you Rosemary SINNOTT
