The Cumberland County, VA. Grizzell (Coleman) Edwards was alive in 1763 when her father Daniel Coleman wrote his will and listed her in his will (probated 22 January 1770), alive in 1771 when her mother Patience Elliott wrote her will and referenced her in her will (probated 26th August 1771), alive in 1784 when she was listed as 'Head of Household' as Grissel Edwards in Cumberland County, VA. The Estate Inventory for William Edwards deceased was presented at the Jan. 1786 Cumberland Co., VA. court.
Grizzle Edwards was still alive in December 1827 when a Cumberland Co., VA Chancery court oversaw the land and personal estate of her son William Edwards 1758-1803, as his mother had been appointed administratrix of his estate, had taken over raising his orphaned children, and never completed the administration of his estate.
Assuming she was 18 years old when she married William Edwards in 1750 Cumberland Co., VA, then in 1827 she was 95 years of age. The residual of William Edwards 1758-1803’s children migrated to Logan County, KY. in the early 1830’s, so Grizzle Edwards had most likely died in the interim.
