Even as I have logged out and uín agaiin I have a problem reading a profile that is Global on Geni

Geni replies that you have no permissions on the focus profile. The profile may be private and inaccessible or you may need to reauthenticate SmartCopy on Geni. You can reauthenticate by clicking here and rerunning SmartCopy.

Why I only want to add a wife to him by reading Myheritage collection records which I also has access to an I am logged into

The focus profile may have relationships locked, which would keep you from adding to that relationship at all. A link to the specific Geni (focus) profile and a link to the MH page would be helpful to diagnosis the issue.

Help please...

SmartCopy was unable to retrieve the focus profile data from Geni.
Geni message: "Invalid access token"

Yep, problems with SmartCopy server ... please 'stand-by'

Changes needed to be made on Geni's side of the "connection" with SmartCopy ... seems to be fixed now!

www.geni.com refused to connect. For over a week

I deleted Firefox off my computer. Deleted my old shortcuts to geni. reentered Geni in google and it's fixed. Thank you!

After I deleted Firefox I had to do a restart before entering Geni in Google.

To fix use first

If you use My Heritage in another language first switch to English then back to to language you where using
This will work to fix the issues on Firefox and on Google Chrome (you will have to it for each browser)
As far as I know there is also a new version 4.7.2 of SmartCopy available.

... browser extensions usually auto-update (the defaults usually are that extensions, such as SmartCopy, are checked for new versions when the browser start up).

I am having trouble with FindaGrave working with Smart Copy today. It just keeps spinning.

I had a 'spin' for a few 10's of seconds. I stopped it, did a <CTRL>-click on the icon again selecting the "Inspect popup" (which starts up a console window) ... and (after closing that), haven't had any issues with FindAGrave.

I don't know that the "Inspect popup" actually did anything. If SmartCopy 'hangs' early in its initial processing, that most often seems to be the result of an incomplete network operation. Canceling the SmartCopy then re-trying seems to usually have things resume working.

I am not fpond of deleting and reinstalling these web browsers as its lots of work getting back to the way they where setup earlier

So what is the easiest way ???

... should never require deleting and re-installing the browser.

At worst, might have to remove and re-install the Smart-Copy extension (with the "manage extensions / add-ons inside the browser), but I've never had to do that either.

One *might* have to restart their computer, as sometimes things get thoroughly confused.

The most common technical issues / problems with SmartCopy tend to be:
-- dropped network connections (not really as SmartCopy problem ... just have to retry the action)
-- lack of permission on the Geni side for what you are trying to do (e.g. update a profile you don't have permission to access).
-- (less common) the SmartCopy "authorization service" is hung. If you can't logout & login after using the "heroku" links (as found in the Project), then that service has to be restarted.

(The error message from a 'dropped' connection depends on exactly what was happening at the time, thus is not always the same ... but is usually rather intermittent if you otherwise have good connectivity to other Internet sites).

I dont have any issues with the above but it still cant save the child records

I have Pro version on Geni i have tried it on both firefox and Chrome I get the same Issue can it be that it finds me via myheritage swedish site and thus has a problem with utf 8 as it does not understan ? for the # as one of her sister has a name using the letter ä

Its been working very well the previous months but now its just not.

Per Olof Johansson - two things may be at work:

1) I recall that SmartCopy only works with the English version of MH pages ... that may be the issue?

2) It seems that it may be something rather specific to the source pages and/or the Geni target profile(s). If you post specific links to each side (source page, focus Geni profile), then that issue can be looked at.

Im logged in on both

And if I am not loogred into the sedish i cant access the link above

I have removed smartcopy and reistalled it i have looged in to bothe the UK and the Swedish site of MH and still I have this isuue at least on firefox I have not yet removed smartcopy from chrome

You could try to switch the language to English and back, that sometimes helps.

I now got another issue within the same area
