The arms that were used were the arms of Massey of Pottington. I’ve replaced them with the arms commonly used for Masci of Normandy. In fact. The family la Ferre-Mace used different arms, but due to the still questionable relation between these two families I won’t make that change until we have further evidence that ties them together. It is generally considered that this is one of the possible beginnings of the Massey line, although other exist also.

Also, Matthieu was Comte de Passis which is about 80 kilometers from la Ferre-Mace. He was likely the son of Guillaume de la Ferre-Mace and appears to have died in England, so this might have created the conditions where his nephew Hamon de Masci would have inherited his uncles English inheritance later known as Dunham-Massey.
