I think Matthaeus Silbernagel was born about 1786 in Posen, Prussia and his father was Erdmann Silbernagel. Erdmann had another son, Andreas, who married Anna Rosina Schulz and had 3 children:
Johanne Friederike Amalie Silbernagel baptised 1 Jan 1836 Bentschen, Posen;
Johanne Louise Silbernagel born abt 1843, died 19 Mar 1843, buried 22 Mar 1843 Bentschen, Posen;
Johann Gottlieb Silbernagel born abt 1824 Bentschen.

I think Matthaeus' wife was called Anna Rosina Boy, who was 19 years old at the time of their marriage in Bentschen in 1814. Anna Rosina's father was Friedrich Boy and it named Matthaeus's father as Erdmann Silbernagel.

@Trevor Thiele
Thank you Michelle Larsen.
Matthias/Matthaeus Silbernagel and Anna Rosina Boy are my GG Grandparents.
Until recently I understood that his name was Andreas and that her maiden name may have been Koert.
This came about thru the ship passenger list, (ship "August", 1856), stating that Anna Rosina Silbernagel, together with her youngest daughter Johanne Pauline Silbernagel, my Great Grandmother, came from Steffanower, Heuland, which is close to Alsace Lorraine, when they actually came from Steffanowo Hauland, Bentschen parish, about 700Km further east in Pozen/Poznan, now Poland.
I found 2 - 3 years ago, that an Andreas Silbernagel, 1784 - 1847 did marry an Anna Rosina Koert, b.1796, in Steffanower Heuland, and even found their tree on the Geni platform also, and then joined the 2 trees together, which I will now attempt to unjoin.
A lady in Victoria did the detective work on that one.
Tonight I had a closer look at the total passenger list regards "where from", and found lots of others listed as coming from Steffanower, Heuland, and I know big chunks of passengers came from the same locations, poss/prob more misleading info!
Would you perchance have any info or be able to point me in the right direction regards the children that Matthaeus and Anna Rosina had.
I am also aware of 2 older daughters that came to South Australia as well, but earlier in 1851 on the "Helena", Johanne Rosina Dorothea Haeusler, nee Silbernagel and Johanne Wilhelmine Silbernagel.

Hi Trevor, thanks for contacting me and explaining about the Steffanower, Heuland mix up. I have never been able to work out how that theory about the Silbernagels came about. It has been circling for years. Even though I felt sure I had the right family in Bentschen, I was still worried that everyone else knew something I didn't! It is a big relief. I will send you an email.
