Lydia Harper Hanks was the daughter of John Harper,this family is not indian,John Harper was born in Prince William Co VA,he was the son of George and Elizabeth Harper and he most definitely was not an indian.It would so great if people would do some research before posting incorrect information online.

This branch has been under controversy for some time, with three or more theories of the lineage. What you see is a compromise pending better source documentation. If you have source documentation, please feel free to provide it.

John Harper 1745-1838 was the son of George and Elizabeth Harper,he was born in Prince William Co VA,his first wife was Sarah Summers,his second wife was named Mary.
John Harper and his mother Elizabeth(Betty) were members of the Chopawamsic baptist church in Pr Wm Co VA,other members of this church were John Knight who married Elizabeth Harper (d. of George and Elizabeth),Robert and Keziah Million were the great grandparents of Fielding Hanks who was married to Lydia Harper.All of the people shown as members of the Chopawamsic baptist church moved to Madison Co Ky.The Scarlett Harper shown in the Will of William Knight was the brother of John Harper,the son of George and Elizabeth Harper,Scarlett and John Harper were brother inlaw to John Knight,brother of William Knight...Wayne Taylor

September 23, 1807 - Articles of Agreement between Betty Harper of Montgomery KY and Benjamin Davis of same county witnesses that Betty Harper is very infirm and also is desirous of living with said Davis the residue of her time, therefore do by these presents employ said Benjamin Davis to board her and support her in lodging and clothing suitable for a person of her age during her material life for which said Betty Harper is to give said Benjamin Davis and put in his possession immediately all her property both real and personably and do by these presents give unto said Davis all my estate as aforesaid both real and personably for and in consideration of the said Davis hereafter may be at an account of boarding said Betty Harper during her life time as aforesaid and hereby revoking all wills made by herself previous to this date and the said Davis for himself do agree to board and maintain said Betty Harper as above outlined.Signed by Betsy Harper (mark) and Benjamin Davis.Witnessed by James Turley, Charles White and Mary Davis.Montgomery Co KY Deed Records - Book 4, Page 381

wherasThomas Harper my Brother on his Death bed being asked what he would do with his property answered as I am told he would leave it to his Brother John & sons and son in laws and I agreed to take a Childs part clear ofall expences and divide the balance among the eight children above named all that was living at the time of his death.
