Just wanted to discuss why i am seeing Eliza Jane married name as Washington.?
I know i was confused some time ago over this as came across the Eliza Mathews who married John Washington and went to WA but found it is not my Eliza matthews.
I have checked and the Eliza Jane Matthews in question whose parents are John and Georgiana matthews from South Australia is not the one who married John Washington in the house of George Matthews in HIndmarsh. This is different George Mathews and parents.
I have checked and that George Mathews is spelt with one "T" and parents are Thomas Mathews and Eliza Matthews born (Long)
My George Matthews was not Elizas father and was not born in SA in 1844 as my George Matthews came out on ship Westminster from England to Port Adelaide in 1848 aged 2 with parents John and Georgiana Matthews.
Sorry but if you check on My Heritage website you will see under Thomas and Eliza Mathews whose daughter is Eliza married to a John Washington.
