Query on wives of Thomas SMITH

I am okay with this... Thomas Smith is my Second Great Uncle...

Ellen Usley SMITH nee MURFITT and Thomas SMITH had 16 children: Ellen Nash (Nell), Annie Eliza, Elizabeth, Charles Edward (Edward) Thomas John, Alice Maud, Beatrice Bing, Miriam Rose, Rose Ethel Rhoda, Evelyn, Lilian Constance, Minnie Grace, Mabel Phoebe, Ona, Frances Jane, unnamed. Ellen died two hours after childbirth 23 Jun 1892 in Timaru. She was aged 42 years 4 months. The baby did not live. At the time of her death 12 of her children were living. Miriam Rose, Rose Ethel Rhoda and Evelyn had died. Ellen Usley SMITH, is buried in the Timaru Cemetery, Block SE Plot 190.

Thomas SMITH, aged 51 years, married (2) Ellen GREGG aged 44 years, in Christchurch in 1894. He died 11 March 1914 aged 70, survived by his second wife and six children of that marriage, and seven of the children from his first marriage to Ellen Usley. Thomas is buried in Timaru cemetery, block D2 plot 294. There were 6 children in his second family; 2 female, 4 male. On his death certificate their ages are shown to be 17 & 15 for the females

Ana May Violet Elgin's birth was registered 1885. Missing from the list of children is: Alice Maude Sansom registered as born 1874. All born NZ, and all born with surname SMITH of course. Other surnames are their married names.

I agree that Louisa Cotterell needs to be removed.

Thomas Smith born 1843 in England and died 1914 in Timaru, NZ, does not have any connection to a Louisa Cotterell. I have his death certificate. He had two marriages, the first to Ellen Usley Murfitt and the second to Ellen Gregg.
Thomas and his first wife are my grandmother's parent.
