Cynthia, I'm sorry for not responding to any of your requests to manage profiles in geni.com. I have no idea how I ended up managing them. My geni emails were getting flagged as "Social" in my gmail account and I didn't even see they were there until now. I'll try to check that folder more often in case you send another request.

Geni is a collaborative platform and the new/reinstatement of gedcom uploads along with the barriers that stand between BASIC Geni users and duplicate profiles means that Pros and others have to work on merging profiles that are duplicated but it is just the way Geni is set up and posting/cross posting to the Discussions can help in sorting these lines. Is a labor of love, and the ability to upload a gedcom ( I have NOT and have added over four thousand eight hundred profiles BY HAND) means more people will add their trees to Geni...to ME this means more opportunities to meet new cousins and confirm lines.

Here, specifically, when a profile has a lot of gedcom source info in the ABOUT section, there are several ways to "clean up" the profile--for me, this is the easiest.
