In July of 1990, Roy hired Edward Schrock, his neighbor, to harvest his wheat for him. On August 8, 1990, Roy went to Ed and Judy's home to pay Ed for the harvest work. Judy has made Apple Crisp and offered some to Roy who joyously ate two helpings that afternoon. Roy went to bed that night full and satisfied....and never woke up the next morning! Judy has always felt a little guilty about the incident but I would rather think that since Roy was then a widower and no longer accustomed to such delectable food like his wife Alfreda used to make for him that it was a wonderful way to go---Connie Streeter
