Lawrence Ryan (1866-1924) and Mary Agnes Ryan, {Australian Immigrant} (1862-1928) have 2 sons born 39 days apart and both boys survived
* Michael Ryan born on 7/7/1895 (Queensland Birth Record 1895/C/9360 Michael RYAN born 7/7/1895 to Lawrence RYAN and Mary Agnes PORTLEY)
* James Joseph Ryan born on 15/8/1895 (Queensland Birth Record 1895/C/9398 James Joseph RYAN born 15/8/1895 to Lawrence RYAN and Mary Agnes PORTLEY)
It seems unlikely that twins would be born 5 weeks apart and survive in 1895.
The QLD birth registrations say they were registered 5 weeks apart, perhaps as a result of
* transcription errors on either one of the boys birth registration (will require citing of original certificates to verify)
* transcription errors on the parents of either one of the boys birth registration (will require citing of original certificates to verify)
* a late registration of one of the children (according to my own grandmother she was registered 2 years late as they were not near a registration office and there was a late fee so they changed her birth date from 1901 to 1903)
* one of the boys were biologically not the child of Lawrence and Mary, but registered as their child
* there are two different families in Qld by the name of Lawrence RYAN and Mary Agnes PORTLEY (this would seem unlikely)
Can anyone add any information on these boys?
