When Dee Clark Linger was born on August 1, 1903, in Lewis, West Virginia, his father, Adam, was 32 and his mother, Ida, was 21. He married Ada Marie Bonnett on September 8, 1928, in Clarksburg, West Virginia. They had three children during their marriage. He died on February 25, 1954, in Weston, West Virginia, at the age of 50, and was buried there.
