Hello, I am Greg George of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Solomon George and Margaret Elizabeth ( Crawford) George are my greatx4 grandparents. My Y-DNA results indicate a non-paternity event in my direct line of George's. My Y-DNA does not match the Nicholas George line from whom paper records indicate I descend.I believe Solomon George, born 1757 in Virginia and died in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1830 was taken-in by William and Winifred George and raised as their son, probably at a young age.I don't know if there was an official adoption. This would have been in or near present Botetourt County, Virginia, probably late 1750's--early 1760's.

My Y-DNA with Family Tree DNA shows that I am of Scandinavian ancestry before my long-ago unknown ancestor settled in the British Isles. In other words he was probably a Viking and probably--based on 67 markers--from Denmark, ca.1000 AD--1100 AD.

I welcome anyone's thoughts or ideas concerning the Solomon George line and the line of / descendants of William and Winifred George of Botetourt Co., Virginia.

Thank you--Greg George, September 1, 2019.
