Did something change in the tree? I used to show a cousin relationship to Cynthia and Quanah, but now Geni is showing an in-law connection only.

I was told it was Pete Noconna but this site also says we're Cousins

I see where some are complaining or at the very minimum curious as to why their relationship either isn't what they thought or has changed when it comes to their relationship to Quanah Parker.

This isn't exclusive to him, it is something that happens with every profile, the reason it seems so obvious here is because everyone has been watching him over the past few months due to Cheley's starting this discussion.

The reason your relationship to a certain individual changes from time to time is actually two fold, primarily it is due to the fact that your specific tree isn't as complete as it could be. As the millions of Geni users are building branches of the World tree, the Geni computer program logic is always searching to find new paths to everyone. Sometimes it's closer, sometimes it isn't a close. In the 10+ years that I have been on here, as I continue to work my tree and others, I have seen fewer and fewer changes to my relationships. For instance, my relationship of 10th cousin to Quanah hasn't changed for years. But I have spent hundreds of thousands of hours on here building the Appalachian regions of America over the past 300 years. My Euro family has been here since around 1650 with very little NA intermarriage during that time. I am related to him through his Euro roots with his mother Cynthia's family.
