they are being confused. My John Young was born 1739 in South Carolina and died 1824 in Alabama.
Married to Mary Polly Cotter, they had 8 children. He was a blacksmith, a boar was lose, injured his leg, crippling him. My John Young did not serve in the American Revolution War. However he aided the soldier by giving them supplies. His son is my 3rd Great Grandfather, James Young. I have a letter dated 1934, i can make copies at your request.
John Young's parents: Archibald Young and Martha Simons

I am not a manager of Mary Cotter. She is not the one I had listed as a wife. I don't see findagrave as a source.

I detached the incorrect parents. I was working on the other Young family of Virginia.

What about the wives and children? Did he have THREE wives?

The plaque photo belongs to Captain John Young , not John McCollough Young, Sr

I moved the plaque photo. I couldn't verify this, so if it's an error, let me know.
