All ancestors on my paternal side of the family were British settlers, but not 1820 settlers. I do not know when they migrated to South Africa and am looking for any info if anyone has any about the following families:
(Frederick)William Lewis b 1856 in Bristol d 1904 East London SA married Margaret Elizabeth Jackson b1861 in Knysna died as Noonan 1948 in Claremont, Cape Town. Her father was William Christie Jack b1833 in Scotland d1900 in East London SA he was harbour master at Knysna and then Master Mariner at East London.
George Roderick Johnstone b1861 in Kent d1945 in East London SA married Amelia Wight b1869 in Hampshire d 1938 In East London. She moved over with her father Edward b1848 in Plymouth d1902 in East London.
