In 1878 Albert M Chamberlain died in Kansas. One newspaper article stated "Both members of the Chamberlain family, Albert and his brother, who came to this county several years ago are now dead. His brother died at Belle Plain about four years ago." Albert's brother was not named. He would have died about 1874. My research found only one John Chamberlain in an 1870 Census for Kansas. There was another John Chamberlain born in New York about 1831 whose wife Hannah filed for a widow's pension in 1886. She lived in Indiana. There wasn't enough information to accept that man as being the same John Chamberlain, nor to research Hannah. Apart from John and Albert, the children of their parents, Royal and Amanda Chamberlain, are spaced quite far apart, and one has to wonder if there were more. And many trees do not include the eldest child Julia A Chamberlain. Does anyone else know about this branch of the Chamberlain family?

@John Chamberlain - Follow-up to my previous message. I have located additional information about the children of Royal and Amanda Chamberlain through FamilySearch. There are several chldren listed and three are sons -- Cyrus, Albert and Royal. There is no John (unless it he was using a middle name). For now I will change the John to Unknown and do further research on Cyrus and Royal. If anyone has more definitive information, please let me hear from you.

@William Royal Chamberlain - Follow-up. Find A Grave memorial for William R Chamberlain, who died on the 5 January 1875 in Belle Plaine, Sumner County, Kansas................Bingo!
