I’m looking for genealogical information on John Henry Johnson. On 4 Dec 1851 in Petersburg, VA he married Ann Rachel Allen. Ann was born about 1828 in North Carolina, daughter of Lucy Ann (maiden name?) and Littleton Alexander Allen. Ann & John had a son, John Walter Royal Johnson. I don’t know what happened to John Henry Johnson, but belied he died. Ann married 2nd Francis Conrad Gittman on 4 Feb 1857. The reason I believe 1st husband died is because both weddings were performed by the same minister at the same church. Back in 1850 divorce was frowned upon, and most ministers wouldn’t marry a divorced person. Ann died 17 April 1882 in Petersburg, VA. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
