I imported data for Elizabeth Helliar (Hellyer) from FamilySearch and had DOB of 1739, based on this christening record:
https://www.freereg.org.uk/search_records/58dd82a0f493fdb46fa5397b/...
I think it's more plausible given when the children were born, but am not sure where the original DOB of Feb 28, 1722 came from since the source is not listed. Should we change it or keep it the same? Does anybody have a source for 1722?
Hi Paul, Elizabeth Helliar (Hellyer) is my 7th great grandmother and I'm one of the managers of her profile. In my personal database, I have an estimated birth date of 1740. This is based on her marriage to Edmund Morgan on the 6th February 1763 at Buckhorn Weston after banns had been called there on the 16th, 23rd, and 30th of January. Elizabeth was most likely in her early twenties when she married as she had at least nine known children with Edmund. The baptism record at Kington Magna does fit her estimated birth date, however, her marriage record states she was "of this parish" when she married which implies she was from Buckhorn Weston. Most brides (but not all) married in their home parish. The Buckhorn Weston parish register is badly damaged in the 1739-1740 time period. Her baptism record may no longer survive. On the other hand, Buckhorn Weston and Kington Magna are only a couple of miles apart so it is possible the couple chose to marry in Edmund's parish instead. I will remove the 1722 birth date and replace it with circa 1740. I think the 1722 birth date has come from unsourced trees on ancestry.com. I am also going to remove the 1813 death date at Chardstock as it also seems to have come from unsourced trees on ancestry.com.
