Is there a way to distinguish this Margaret 2nd wife? She was a Macdonald before marrying Mcleod; however Wife #3 was also named Margaret and confusing.

THIS MARGARET MACLEOD:
#1: Father is John MacDonald Gorm Macdonald of Sleat
#2: Husband is Donald Macleod of Bernera also known as Donald "Old Trojan" MacLeod (not to be confused with Capt.)

Wife #2: Margaret Macdonald, daughter of John Macdonald Gorm Macdonald of Sleat. Page 253 reads "He married, secondly, Margaret Macdonald, described as "a daughter of John Macdonald Gorm Macdonald of Sleat." They lived together for nineteen years, without issue."

The wives are made master profiles, they cannot be merged.

I think you misunderstood I don't want to merge them. I want to make sure that the two Margarets are distinguishable.

My suggestion is
Wife #2: Margaret (MacDonald) McCloed
Wife #3: Margaret (McCloed) McCloed

I don’t misunderstand. I disagree.

#1. Scots women retained their maiden names.
#2. McLoed is a variant spelling for MacLeod, you’re welcome to add it to AKA.
#3. MP, parents, detailed “about”, completed birth / death / marriage fields, curator notes and media are more than enough disambiguation for a low traffic area.

#1: In another post you told me about Scottish maiden names: agreed! New suggestion:
Wife #2: Margaret MacDonald
Wife #3: Margaret (McCleod) McCleod (this one may be necessary)

#2: McLeod and MacLeod are interchangeable and variants? Are you sure? In Denmark, Lang and Lange are not! I will believe you.

#3:Disambiguation: I'm not able to see the curator notes, so that explains it.
