I believe that this could be one and the same person. The father was Thomas Henry and it is likely the son, also Thomas Henry, was known as Harry. What evidence do we have of both?
Conflicting for me:
England's BMD records show TH born Jun 1852 and Harry born Sep 1857 - suggests two people
Then from '' For God , Queen & Colony '' by Terry Sole, it is recorded that "Boik Henry Attested 25 / 9 / 76 - Discharged 6 / 10 / 79" with the Natal Mounted Police. This is Harry Boik. But interestingly not recorded as Thomas Henry Boik.

Hi Edwin,

Although this is possible, I think there is an alternate suggestedstory.

I understand that a Thomas Henry Boik came from England to Australia and died in Australia in 1898, aged 44. This would have his birth as 1854. There is a Thomas Henry Boik born to Henry Thomas and Rachel (Harry's Parentsd) in 1852. Pewrhaps this is the Thomas Henry Biok in the family tree. I have seen a lengthy discussion of this TH Boik in RootsChat.com.

Thanks Tim, I will follow up on RootsChat to see what I find out. If there is evidence of the TH going to Australia, this would confirm two people.
