Didn't someone start a project that verified the various claims of SA lines to noble / royal ascent? Sharon-Ann Sheina de Wet Herr wants to know.

Really have no clue. I do get notices from Wiki from time to time showing the connection and degrees I am apart by not adding I presume.

Hi Sharon Lee Doubell
Yes, I did join recently. I am in the process of finding my Great Great Grandfather Behr / Von Behr/Bahr? who emigrated to South Africa. I have no idea who he was. I only have my Grandfather Aloyisius Michael Louis Behr, b 17 Jan 1875 d 12 Aug 1944, Bloemfontein, South Africa. Was married twice (Annie Mary Agnes Muller and Elizabeth Gertruida Van Schalkwyk). A family member owns our Grandfather's Family BIble, which has all the information - BUT nothing about his parents.

is the first and only information I got on the internet, which confirms my Grandfather's names.

Hi Sharon Lee,

I found the site you mentioned most interesting.
I have received a few indications from Geni about my distant links to Princess Di as well as to Queen Victoria and other royalty.
I am a descendant of Rev Andrew Murray of Graaff Reinet and documented most of his descendants some years ago.
I also have some information on Bruce Murray, the current Duke of Atholl and head of the Murray Clan of Scotland.
Regards, Teo Louw.

I am teying to create my family tree. Linking to Recognized illigitimate child of King V Stewart of Scot. My linage is linked to the Moodies. Having fun in the process. My Dad's side of the family and I belive I have found the link. If a child was recognised as illigitimate I believe that somehiw we are royal. Anyone can give me claruty to that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sharon Lee Doubell

When I started with our link of the BEHR family tree, I could not find anything closely related. About two years ago, our Family Bible was discovered at my late cousin, Louis Michael Behr. his spouse, Elise Behr took photos of the information inside the Bible and sent it to me. This was my first definite start. I am not sure if there is anyone else who started the BEHR family tree on GENI. I registered and started building from what I had then. It is still a work in progress, but I would like to add that I am very proud of the information to date. Regards

Hi Sharon

was wondering if you have any info on the Meyer family before they came to SA and if they were Jewish? the Meyer is sometimes a jewish name combined as with Abraham..

Thru the Muller line we are connected to and Jan van Avesnes"
Valenciennes, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France there by to many Royal Lines as there were I think 9 kids married off to various royal lines.

Hi Margarite - Well done! Those are always the best stories :-) Consider starting a Behr Family Project to collect data and attract more Behr family reseachers. I can show you how, if you wanted to.

Hello Cousin Keren. I reposted your question to a Discussion on the SA Jewish settlers project:https://www.geni.com/discussions/197953?msg=1305478 - perhaps someone knows something.

Hi
I am trying to find my grandparents who were Abrahamse from Simons town. My mother said her grand mother which is my great grandmother was Jewish. I cant trace where they came from. Her grandmother was Sarah Ellen Abrahamse married to Henry and then to Graham, her mother was married to Abrahamse and her maiden surname was Kocks and that is how far I have got. All registered in the 1840's from Simonstown. Is there anyone that can help me to find out how I can trace if they were Jewish and where, what site. Thank you Esther Badenhorst
