Aaron James Moon - Obituary

Death of former Alma and Maryborough resident:
There passed away at Maryborough on Sunday night a very old and respected resident of Maryborough. Aaron James Moon was born at Bendigo 71 years ago. He, with his parents, was at the different rushes in the early days. His parents eventually settled at Alma and resided there for several years when deep mining was at its very best. His father being a carpenter decided to remove to Maryborough where he established a business of Contractors and Builders under the name of George Moon and Sons.
After remaining with the firm for some years the deceased decided to strike out on his own and 20 years ago went to the Mallee district, selecting the township of Woomelang. He started off as a builder contractor and undertaker combined with farming. So far as the farming was concerned, however, it only lasted 3 years. He then decided to devote his whole time to the building trade. In the township and district of Woomelang he erected more buildings than any contractor of his time or since.
Some 12 months ago he decided to retire from active work and finish his remaining days in his old township of Maryborough. He leaves a widow, 2 sons and 2 daughters to mourn their love.
