The father listed here is actually John's brother, who would have been 13 when John was born. The actual father of both of them is listed correctly as Pierre's father on his page. Their father is this guy:

Pierre Sr. is listed on other genealogy sites as dying in 1720 in Kirkcudbrightshire, where John was born. He also had a son named Edward in 1642.
