Does anyone have proof regarding this man's father? His testament dative of 1670 [CC14/5/8, p.245-247 - Register of Testaments, Lanark Commissary Court] shows that he had borrowed money from Sir William Weir of Stonebyers, with sureties named as William Laurie, tutor of Blackwood and William Inglis of Eastshield on 29 January, 1664, and I am wondering if he might have been a younger son of Sir William.?
