So I'm starting with the Boltons.

BTW. There are so much duplicates... I don't seem to be able to report some as fictional + any way I can merge them with our tree once they're fictional? some people made a nice job creating these.

A profile can only be tagged Fictional if it is not connected to WFT, once a small tree is connected to WFT disconnecting it should make it candidate to be tagged but this is buggy so sometimes waiting or splitting the tree further will make it possible to flag.

Two fictional trees cannot be merged, you just need to unflag one tree then merge it with the other, actually may need to tag both trees then tag again once merged.

I suggest merging little trees you find into each other then merging the result into the MP tree in one go.

Perhaps dupe Boltons are common because it's a less popular family, Lannisters, Targaryens and Starks were purged pretty regularly. I could swear I found profiles for Jojen and Meera Reed but there family doesn't match GOT, i could be a real family or else something even stranger so i just left it alone. If you do a Geni search for Jojen Reed you'll see the tree i mean

I merged the duplicate boltons, now the tree has the WFT tag, cant find where the connection to the real tree is

and for some reason the profile i made of Roose Bolton the other day has vanished

I've been adding profiles and MPing and RLing them immediately then field locking data as i enter it. Hopefully this will cut down on having to revisit, also adding to the Umbrella project and using the Biography tool in the About.

Hopefully others will add to the Abouts and upload appropriate images, or not

I had the same experience, untagged, merge a standalone Westerling tree and now we are allegedly attached to WFT. Hopefully it's just the database needing to refresh.

There's what looks like a legitimate family for a Theon Greyjoy. I'm leaving it alone as there are several generations none of which look like GOT characters.

I have been using Geni's Research button to find MH trees that show the family I want the SmartCopying them a generation at a time. Still have to revisit everyone to MP and fact check but feels like a good system.

There's a lot of "Unknown Harlaw"s in there.

As long as the unknowns are connecting with other branches which have some content to them, I add them using "? Harlaw", and I add the minimum links possible.

Now does anyone care to explain to me why I can't merge Ser Stevron Frey with Ser Stevron Frey ?

Also doing the small House Brax due to marital connections with the Freys.

About the Stevron Freys, if a tree is tagged Fictional you cannot merge it with another tree. You have to remove the fictional tag from both trees, merge them and then mark the resulting tree as fictional. With caching issues there can sometimes be a delay between merging and being able to tag a tree fictional again.

Atalya i'm merging the smaller Frey tree into the MP tree but I am seeing a lot of living profiles which will be Private for normal users.

I have been making all GOT profiles deceased so they are public but it has just occurred to me that living MPs are also public so perhaps as long as we MP living profiles that resolves the privacy issue.

Yeah thanks for solving that for me. You've already explained about merging fictional trees and I completely forgot.

I think the Targaryens are done but have to check back thru them.

Ironic that Robert despised the family and wanted to wipe them out when really House Baratheon is a jnr branch of Targaryen.

I've just reported a Targaryen tree created by a user named Aenys. The tree structure looks reasonably good but lots of it is duplicated already in the MP tree.
The reason i have reported rather than merged is because the tree has lots of profile images but they seem to be random images off the internet with no logic behind them so i have requested deletion.
