Edward and Sarah Burchett Osborne did not have a son named "Sherwood Thomas Osborne". Their son Thomas' name was William Thomas, an old Osborne family name.
Unless Albert had a son named Sherwood, you are probably refer to Solomon Osborne's son Sherwood. Albert Osborne was Sarah's son by one Mr. May after circa 1813 when Edward was either lynched over killing William and David Morgan or fled to Ohio (Re: Henry Scalf). Either way, Albert was not Edward's son. After Edward's departure/demise, Sarah had issues with Floyd County court officials over morals/ fitness as a parent/economic circumstances/etc. seizing her children. IMO, infant daughter "Osborne" was taken away from her. I have seen information that she may have been placed with a family in Johnson Co. her son Samuel married into. IMO her name was Sarah. At some point, a Mr. May sponsored a law granting land patents to indigent persons: Sarah was the recipient of a grant on Buck's Branch at present Martin. IMO May was Albert's father. Later Sarah and possibly her son Samuel were living on Osborne Branch in the Abbott section of Floyd County.
