Crane Hook. In 1662, Alexander d'Hinojossa, Governor of New Amstel, invited discontented Finns, living north of Christina Creek within the jurisdiction of the Upland Court, to move to Crane Hook to set up their own quasi-independent settlement. A number of families agreed.
