@Ann Duckworth

I have been trying to fix the problems in these lines all day and hope someone can help. It is pretty messed up.

1) The referenced connection was married previously to Hugh Hopewell as noted in the About notes I placed in her profile. However, it has Hugh and Ann Hopewell as her parents. They need to be removed and I'm unable to fix that.

2) There are too many Grace Duckworths. There should only be one and she has no known maiden name and she should only be the wife of William P. Duckworth at this link. She is currently also wife of her son Joseph and I can't get it to merge and can't remove it. William Duckworth, of New Hanover

3) In trying to fix all this, I ended up creating a duplicate of Joseph and can't get rid of it. It won't merge.

4) Someone created a female John Duckworth at this link and I can't get rid of it: Millecent ‘Millie’ Duckworth

5) I'm assuming whoever did the profile for Mlle Duckworth meant it to be Millicent "Millie" Duckworth. She should be the mother of John who is married to the widow Ann Hopewell. Her husband should also be John. I've had so much trouble with these all day I just left this one alone for fear I'd create another duplicate that won't merge. This John would be b. 1622 England d. 1650 England and Millicent b. 1624 England d. 1661 England
Millecent ‘Millie’ Duckworth

I hope these are quick and easy fixing on the curator end because I have literally been working on them for hours and can't get it all fixed.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Had to laugh at myself this morning Woke up thinking about the female John Duckworth and thought I must have been brain dead last night because it never crossed my mind to just change that one to male and at least try to merge it. lol

Debbie Gambrell The dates were nuts in this tree! I’ve done some disconnecting of impossible parents. My suggestion, when a tree goes “time traveling” is to start “down” work “up” with source info. Don’t be afraid to make a new profile. Then, when it starts to match, the older profile can be merged in and dates adjusted to the “sourced” one.

Take a look now, not sure I got it all.

I’m taking my own advice and working to source around here.

Geni says William Duckworth is my 8th great uncle.

Will of Ann Duckworth of St. Mary's County, Widow, drawn May 9, 1793 [????] proved Nov. 27. Son Joseph Hopewell named executor; other legatees were Richard Hopewell, daughter Ann Ainsworth, and numerous Hopewell grandchildren.

The widow Ann appears to have been a second wife of Hugh Hopewell, Sr., of Colvert Co. whose will is dated May 23, 1687 and probated Feb 20, 1688 (Wills 1730-34, book 20, pg. 493; Testimony Proceedings, Book 16, p. 7; Baldwin, v.6, pg.24; v.4, pg.233) "The Account of Joseph Hopewell Executor of...Ann Duckworth late of St. Mary's deced", dated June 24 1734, shows the estate valued at L1153-18-2. (Accounts, 1733-34, Book 12, pg. 352) From this will we can assume Ann Hopewell had no children with John Duckworth."

Great info I had no come across, Erica. Thank you for this. So widow Hopewell isn't even the mother of any Duckworth children, which means she needs to be removed as such. The problem I ran into was the tree had John's wife as Ann Hopewell and had her daughter of Hugh and Ann Hopewell, so daughter of her dead husband and herself. You found absolute proof of the correct ties between these families. I'm so grateful. Going to check it all out now.

And how awesome to find we're Duckworth cousins! lol

We should work on the Hopewell tree also, I don’t see it attached to Ann’s first husband.

I get relatives all over Geni. :). Love it.
