Please remove this Dorothy as a daughter of Maj John Bond and Dorothy Harris.
There is no mention of this Dorothy in the 1669 Isle of Wight Co., VA, Record of Wills, Deeds, Etc., Vol. 2 (1661-1719), p. 63, of Maj John Bond. She is also not named in the 1684 Isle of Wight Will of Dorothy Bond dated 10 July 1684, recorded 9 Oct 1684, In Vol 3 pg 239. I've had certified copies of these two Wills from the Isle of Wight County Court House for over four decades. I have researched this Harris family for over 55 years, both personally and professionally and have never seen or hears of any claims of this Dorothy Cobb as a daughter of Dorothy Harris Bond. The only claims ever made were UNDOCUMENTED assumptions by LDS members.trying to build ancestries to the royal Harris family of Crixie England. Dorothy Harris Bond was over 50 years old in 1670 when this Dorothy was born, much too old to bear any children and her husband Maj John Bond had died before 3 May 1669 when his Will was filed for probate.
Done.
I’m guessing this is where the mixup started:
—-
William Blunt appearances in the Isle of Wight Co records:
1683 – Joseph Bridger excepted the land which he had previously sold to Francis Hobbs, Mrs. Dorothy Bond and William Blunt from the 850 acre tract he left his son William.
1684 – William Blunt and Nicholas Cobb Sr witness the will of Dorothy Bond.
1686 – William Blunt, about 60 years of age, helped to prove Nicholas Cobb’s will.
—-
And then
