Marsha Gail Veazey I am unfamiliar with this tree. Would it be possible for you to take a look at Susannah Phillips vs Susannah Phillips & Ruth Canterbury vs Ruth Elizabeth Thaxton
In advance, Many thanks for the help on this.
The Susannah’s are the same: she was listed in her stepfather Lloyd’s will so must have acquired that name. I merged.
However I see no evidence to support her husband William Phillips, of Richmond, VA as child of Sir Richard Philipps, 2nd Baronet of Picton Castle & Elizabeth Swift so have disconnected. If there is evidence, please present it.
This summarized will data from Joan (Frith?) Williams Lloyd

What is the evidence supporting Edward Emms as husband of Ruth Canterbury ?
I believe I’m done, and Marsha Gail Veazey should review.
Roger Williams II is my 8th great-grandfather, born December 15, 1625, St. Albans, Bedfordshire, England, died January 6, 1677 Old Rappahannock, Richmond, Wise County, Virginia, British Colonial America. He married Joane Frith or Firth (1650-1703, daughter of Nathaniel Frith (1620-1677) and Elizabeth Parsons (1625-1702). The children of Joane Firth or Frith were: 1) Roger Williams (1653-1671), 2) Elizabeth Williams (1658-1709), 3) Susannah Williams (1661-1726), 4) Anne Williams (1662-1726), 5) Betty Williams (1665-1722), 6) Ruth Williams (1667-1702), 7) Roger Williams (1670-1744), 8) Joan Williams (1671-1722), 8) Shadrack Edward Williams (1673-1710), 9) Rebecca Williams.
She also married Lewis Lloyd (1642-1687) and had children: 1) John Lloyd (-1691), 2) Rogerg Lloyd (1660-1725), 3) Susannah Lloyd (1663-1725), 4) Betty Lloyd (16650, 5) Shadrack Lloyd (1667-1722), 6) Anne Lloyd (1667-1685).
In Joane Williams Will, she lists her name as Joane Williams-Wills-Lloyd, written January 8, 1703, Deed Book 1, Page 65, Richmond County, Virginia.
She names daughters, Susannah Phillips, Shadrack Williams, Anne Debord, Ruth Canterbury, and grandchildren. There is a Rebecca Thompson and Joan Kincheloe.
Under Roger Williams name is also a marriage to Katherine Jenkins (1622-1677), naming Lewis Williams (1640-1691), John Williams (1651-1691), George Williams (1672-).
I know nothing about this marriage, I am descended from Roger Williams and his wife Joane Firth Williams and their son Shadrack Edward Williams.
I also know nothing about a marriage to Wills.
Dona Floyd Kimmons
Joane married secondly about 1677 to Samuel WILLIS ...
11/2/1677 Deed of Gift ... "Samuel Wills of Farnham Parish, Old Rappahannock County, Virginia, in contemplation of marriage with Joan, relict of Roger Williams, gave certain property by Deed of Gift to Roger, Sydrach, Susanna and Anne, the children of the deceased Roger Williams. The children were to receive it when they attained the age of 16 years."
Yes, I disconnected Katherine Williams as wife of Roger. All I see on her is that Edward Hassell (of Lower Norfolk County) married Katherine Williams, presumably a widow Williams.
Apparently she’s been disconnected from Roger before, so there must be a tree that has it.
Well, it looks OK, the Birth place was wrong for Roger & he wasn’t a ll.
According to https://www.werelate.org/wiki/Person:Sydrach_Williams_%281%29
Note: the data on Shadrack agrees with my prior findings. I do not believe that Shadrack ever came to Virginia. He, and his partner, William Clobery, did ship merchandise to Virginia in 1625 from London. I believe (without proof) that he sent his son: Roger to VA to carry on his business and that Roger was, probably, born in London.

You’d want to nail it better with docs. A letter between him and the irascible Puritan who founded Rhode Island would be nice. Dig in!
Edward Emms Was married to Ruth’s daughter Elizabeth as 2nd husband, according to https://simpsonhistory.com/johnkincheloe

Joanne's maiden name is Firth or Frith. MORGAN/GREER/JOHNSTON AND MANY OTHERS DID DNA TESTING ON THIS FAMILY IN 1986 ON ALL DESCENDANTS OF THIS FAMILY, DOWN TO ME, CURRENT GENERATION, WHICH I HAVE IN MY POSSESSION. He says that her name is Joanne Firth.
